Overall Position Description:

  • The Financial/Accounting Clerk ensures the smooth operation of financial processes within an organization. They handle a variety of clerical and financial support tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of financial responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Data Entry and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and databases.
    • Input data accurately into accounting software or financial systems.
  • Financial Transactions:
    • Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
    • Prepare and issue bills or statements to customers or vendors.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Generate financial reports and summaries.
    • Assist in preparing budgets and financial statements.
  • Compliance and Verification:
    • Verify the accuracy of financial documents, records, and transactions.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist financial personnel with audits.
    • Handle correspondence related to financial matters, such as bank or client inquiries.
  • Miscellaneous Duties:
    • Support the finance and other departments with ad hoc tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Candidate Profile:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Additional training in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance is preferred
  • Available to work full-time

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in clerical or financial roles is beneficial
  • Skills
    • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel)
    • Attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Familiarity with basic accounting principles
